Attorney General Jeff Sessions has recused himself from an investigation into Russian interference in the US election. This after the Justice Department confirmed Sessions talked twice with Russia’s ambassador during the presidential campaign, an apparent contradiction to Sessions’ testimony during his confirmation hearing. President Trump says he has total confidence in the Attorney General, while some top Democrats have called on him to resign. Sessions says there was nothing improper about the meetings and he never discussed the campaign.
Two Trump cabinet appointees confirmed by the Senate Thursday. Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson will lead the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Former Texas Governor Rick Perry is the new Energy Secretary.
The company behind the Snapchat messaging platform officially went public on the New York Stock Exchange. Executives at Snap Incorporated rang the opening bell Thursday morning. The stock soared more than 50% in its debut, beyond 25 dollars a share.
And a small mouse caused a big delay on a British Airways flight from London to San Francisco. Passengers were told Wednesday their flight couldn’t take off because a mouse was spotted on board. The flight was delayed for hours while crews prepared a new, rodent-free aircraft.
