A federal appeals court in California has refused to reinstate President Trump's ban on travelers from 7 mainly Muslim countries. Judges said the government presented no evidence to explain the urgent need for the executive order to take effect immediately. The ban was suspended last week after lawyers argued that it was unconstitutional while President Trump responded, defiantly tweeting, "See you in court. The security of our nation is at stake." He also told reporters he thought the decision was political and that would be overturned on appeal.
Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has arrived in the US for talks with President Trump. The meeting will focus on strengthening trade and security relations, but there may well be other issues to iron out after Mr. Trump last week accused Japan of manipulating its currency.
